Melancholy Monday

I went for a walk during lunch, nowhere in particular just walking listening to some Ella Fitz. I was oblivious to almost everything but the demented little world that located between my ears. I suddenly snapped out of my daydream and found myself in the middle of the Pitt Meadows airport parking lot. That parking lot was the last confirmed place my friend Martin was alive . Martin Balfour was a co-worker, and a friend. Not a great friend, but I went to his parties, and i invited him to mine. We flirted at work, in a game of trying to make the other blush first. He usually won. Dec 28, 2001 martin disappeared. His car was found at the local airport, but no traces of him where ever found. I volunteered with the search party that combed the dyke's and scrub land that are adjacent to the Fraser river, two days, and countless people looking for ...something...anything...nothing

Martin is still missing, and I am still missing him, six years later.

Oh man. Learn something new every day. Hope Tuesday is going better.

I knew Marty, too, a long time ago. I was shocked when I heard he had disappeared, and I'm saddened to read that he is still missing.

I keep hoping he'll turn up sipping a Singapore Sling on a restaurant balcony somewhere with a case of temporary amnesia...I miss him too.

Just wondering if any of you know the coffee shops, fast food joints or restaraunts he would have gone to between 4 and 5 am that Saturday morning he went missing? What would have made Martin leave his home at that time?
