Green Thumb 2

Well, the green house that was going to be built on the old swing set has had conditions put upon it. I can use it, but I have to make it safe for my nephew to play on it. The whole unit is heavily rusted, and in need of some serious sanding and rust proof painting. It wasn't that bad of a job sanding it down, especially once I gave up on sanding it by hand, and set up the sand blaster. The rust literally flew off. I even managed to find a couple of old cans of tremclad kicking around, so I didn't even have to spend a nickel on the project.

I still have to put a couple of more coats of paint on the unit, before I can start building the green house. In the mean time I have started a half barrel garden in another part of the yard. Its planted with peas, alpine strawberry's, oregano, and will eventually have a tomato plant in the middle of the planter.

Cool! Fun work + fresh food - $0 spent. Nice.

Looks good so far. I did some weeding yesterday in the garden I share with my next-door neighbour. Also picked some garlic that I planted a few years ago that keeps getting better every year.

Wow, that's wicked! And oregano is a great choice! We use ours all the time!
